Day Trip
Starting with a drive in our luxury coach from the Worthing area to Southampton, we make a short stop on the way, before boarding Heritage Steam Ship Shieldhall. This is the largest working Steam Ship in Britain, built and launched on the Clyde in 1955 to a classic pre-WW2 design. We shall then enjoy an afternoon sailing down Southampton Water to the Solent.
Hopefully we shall see the departing cruise ships, Brittania, Braemar, Celebrity Sillouette and Iona (subject to confirmation), with a chance to sound the ship's whistle with lots of tooting, waving and cheering and to play the ‘Shieldhall Organ’!
Explore all areas of the ship, including the engine and boiler room, and even go up on the bridge and meet the captain. On board is a licensed bar and cafeteria serving bacon rolls, soup, cakes tea and coffee.
