Itinerary:
Starting in Worthing, with a coffee break en-route and a lunchtime stop. Our overnight stay, with dinner and breakfast, is at Salomons Estate. Set in 36 acres, rolling gardens and parkland surround the Victorian Mansion House.
Just 2 miles outside the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, it has a Museum, intimate theatre seating 230, intricately decorated Gold Room and the only electrically driven philharmonic organ in the world! Learn about the fascinating story of the Salomon family, Sir David being the first in the country to introduce electricity to his home.
After breakfast on Monday, we head to the lovely historic City of Canterbury to meet our guide for a 90 minute walking tour. In the afternoon, a short stop at Chilham with its 15th century square of black and white buildings used in many film and TV productions. Then it's on to McArthur Glen Retail Park near Ashford. Boasting 85 stores, 14 restaurants and cafés all in a modern and attractive setting, we spend some time here before returning home.
